Yamisan is a sushi and noodles place on King George. We went there after the carrot juice. We had a 1+1 coupons for the sushi rolls so we didn’t try the noodles this time. Actually we passed by this restaurant many times but never really noticed it, it’s always seem dark and closed, but it’s open.
funny name, appetizing?

We ordered 4 of the specials rolls. Overall, you can see the rolls are large, a lot of rice, same as many other places in this price range. A very modest presentation. We got very little wassabi but it was just enough.
Shrimps, Surimi, avocado and cucumber (35 nis)
A very successful roll, with lots of inside filling, interesting enough and it tasted good.
shrimp and surimi
Fried inside-out maki with salmon, mozzarella, avocado and chives (35 nis).
This is totally a fusion roll. I liked the mozzarella inside, and frying it makes it irresistible.
Fried with mozzarella and salmon
Special Salmon, asparagus, carrots and avocado on top (36 nis)
This was good but lacking a bit asparagus, it is a big roll so it was hard to taste the asparagus.
Salmon asparagus
Special Calamari, Tuna and avocado covered with sweet potato tampura chips (36 nis)
This was disappointing because the calamari was only a trace in there even though it’s named “Special Calamari”. We thought they mixed our order at first but the waiter explained it should be like that and pointed out the calamari small bits inside. Then we could have spotted them. He also suggested to change it to only calamari roll but fearing it will return worse we declined. It was practicably a regular tuna roll, not so special and should not be one of the priciest rolls on the menu in my opinion. As a regular roll it was tasty, the tuna was fresh and nice.
special calamari, where is the calamari?
The service was ok as long as they noticed us but it was hard to get noticed in the first place, even though the place was almost empty and 3-4 staff members were around us. We couldn’t eat everything and we ask to TA about 1/4 of the amount. They packed it up without a problem and the bill came out 67 nis + 4 nis payed for the coupons = 71 nis total before tip.
Even without a discount I think they give a nice value for the money, and they have many interesting things to offer.
