The second week in Paris we moved from Meudon to Tamar’s apartment in the 10th district, near Gare de l’est. It’s a huge central station. From here it was easier to move around until finalizing the contract on the apartment.

Beautiful station

We started to act more like tourists in Paris, finding the nice places to see, spending more time in the one digits districts of the city (the center). We saw the major famous patisseries like Fuchon. They had the most beautiful presentations:

Beautiful cakes, made to perfection

We were just looking for now, like a museum

Prices were in the same range of a high-range bakery in Israel, but you get a lot more value to your money here

Did a baker or an architect make this?

We also saw a lot more of Eiffel Tower:

Here

There

And everywhere. This is actually made out of bread.

Last Monday we went to visit the school and get some advice from the student adviser, Stephanie. She gave us a tour of the school but it was all under cleanings and renovations so I couldn’t tell much. But it was impressive to see these huge kitchens (there are twenty!) and be there at the first time.

That same day I opened a french bank account (much paper work needed to do that), and sent my request for the student transport card. Also a lot of paper work needed for that.

sending (at last!) my request for student pass

We also went for some museums and monuments like anyone should in Paris:

having a nap, Petit Palais

The science museum and the surrounding gardens (we didn't go into this museum)

beautiful Center Pompidou

View of the city from the center

Line 4 in the metro is the most crowded one.

read the sign - It's FOODING!!

found all the second hand stores in the city

And then some more. In the antique weekend market, northen Paris

The funniest hats!

tomato?

Now it's obvious the french have bigger celery roots.

A walk around china town for a day

The Indian holiday of Genash - we didn't miss that also

crowded with naked Indian bodies dancing around

Indian bread

I have a lot of food material to write about until the 31 of August, this is when I begin my first day of school. It’ll be a lot of info in a short while. Sorry for that, hope you can still keep up the pace and at least look at the pics 🙂
