Spontaneously picking a place to sit for a light lunch on the nice pedestrian street rue Montorgueil we decided to sit at Casa De Campo for a drink and some tapas. It was a great choice and a positive surprise.

We shared a big glass of Affligem beer, not bad!
And ordered 4 tapas in 12.4 euro, a discount price
Mariscos al xeres - Sea-food with cherry. Was the worst choice, the cherry was un-noticeable.
Supions a l'Espangnole, baby squids, were so tender and delicious.
Albondigas de buey - Meatballs, were not bad at all
Tampura Moules, were really excellent with some lemon squeezed on top
We imagined the Tapas to be smaller portions than what we received but even though we were not that hungry we finished it all! With the side bread basket as well and then even asked for a coffee and dessert.

For dessert, Fig Tart Tatin, nomnomnom! Was a perfect ending and really well made.
In Paris it’s not that easy to just sit somewhere random to eat without recommendation and be really satisfied, especially when you’re a culinary student. People may think it’s that easy because every corner you find a Brasserie and every two steps you find another restaurant but it doesn’t mean you can find anything more exiting than the usual steak tartar, moules and frites and andouillette (if you have guts to try that one!). This is why I was very happy with this casual Spanish tapas bar.
I understand that while Irit was speaking Spanish with the very welcoming waiter – he was actually trying to hit on you…. 😉
