After the sashimi madness, another treat from Dror came one day in the shape of a weird fish called African Threadfish and in Hebrew its name translates to “Sea-Camel”.  I wasn’t familiar with this fish but this is what I read about it:

Alexandria pampano Is a rare and beautiful fish with silver body and long fins, narrow body structure. Delicious flesh, suitable for sushi, sashimi, baking and frying. individuals are occasionally caught in fishing. If such a fish is available it is strongly recommended to give it a try.

Together with this fish we also received fresh squid. I smell a fishy dinner!

Marwow also smelled something interesting

I fried in a pan red onions, green and red tomatoes, dried tomatoes and some capers

Then I added the cleaned fish

I really like green tomatoes and the capers are a good match I think.

I added some of the hot water which I used to soak the dried tomatoes and a dash of cream. Bummer that the fish was sticking to the bottom and it looked a bit sloppy when I tried to take it out to a plate. We served the parsley on the side considering the problematic crowd.

The squids were cleaned very patiently by Omer and I and then seared on the plancha with garlic and lemon.

Delicious! The fish was very good as well and I liked the combination between green-red-dried tomatoes with onions and capers.

Dror thanks for all the fish and Omer thanks for taking the pictures!
