The service was very nice and warm

A little complementary amuse bouche to begin with. There was seaweed, soy sauce, radishes. We liked the gesture. A weird combination and a bit too salty.

Grouper tartar with tomato cream and cauliflower couscous (69 NIS). There were also crushed olives and eating a bit combining all the elements was nice. The cauliflower was certainly interesting and new to me - kinda pickled and broken down.

Bread toast salad, Circassian cheese with asparagus, red onion and garlic baked in wine (59 NIS). Also dominant there was the red beans cooked al-dente. It was my favorite dish of the meal. A salad that you want to take more and more of. The cheese was smooth and soft, great with the crunchy bread. It was wonderful.

Give me more salad!!

Sardines fried in cornmeal, polenta and yellow gazpacho. A daily special (not in the menu). A bit odd dish. I liked each thing separately but together it didn't make a lot of sense. I didn't like the presentation of the side dishes each in its own little plate and thought the proportions were bad. It didn't dip well and too small.

Lamb Shawarma: stuffed and sliced lamb shoulder, yogurt and pistachio, green salad (87 NIS). A really nice dish. tasteful and well balanced. I liked.

Carrots Fettuccineת potatoe gnocchi, seared chicken livers. Another one of the specials. This was a bit of a disappointment. The carrots were just carrots cut with a mandolin, the gnocchi were absolutely not gnocchi but potato croquettes which is totally something else. The searing of the liver was a bit lacking caramelization and the sauce was okay but not amazing. I don't like it when the name of the dish says something but then you get something different.

A small treat before moving on to desserts: yogurt with fig marmalade. Nice if you like yogurt as an ending to a meal. Clean delicate flavor.

One of the special desserts of the day. Cream Malabi with something. A bit too similar to the yogurt dessert.

One of the special desserts of the day. Cream Malabi. Not a memorable dessert.

Bitter sweet quince in syrup, coconut ice cream and honey sesame biscuit (39 NIS). A good dessert if you like fruit desserts. The ice cream was very good.

Elba is a fun place to eat. The atmosphere is a bit too heavy and serious to my taste but we felt comfortable. The service is very kind and professional. I feel we took to many of the specials of the day, turns out they are dishes yet to be well composed. Generally you get simple but tasty food with magical moments here and there. The plating of the dishes is more of the sloppy style for some reason. I heard the lunch menu is of good value so I’m thinking about trying it out.
