Few places in the city I visited just for a quick bite…
Moon
58, Bugrashov st. Tel-Aviv
03-6291155

A small bite from the revolving sushi bar. The plates are 8.5 NIS – 17 NIS depending on the color of the plate but the 17’s looks more interesting. Sunday’s evening it’s all in 12 NIS !

Moon’s menu is so long, I can’t tell what we ordered but it was very good. Overall a good sushi restaurant but on the more expensive side. These two rolls of 4 pieces were about 45 NIS.
If you like tea I also recommend the crispy rice tea which I absolutely adore.

Friday noon with my two good friends at Abu Hassan. It’s not always easy to get a chair. When seated you get the pitta bread, raw onion and spicy oil then you order. There is no menu but the possibilities are limited to: Hummus, masabacha, broad beans (fool). You can also ask for any of the combinations.

I took the Triangle which means – all three options together. It’s very good even though next time I will prefer only hummus- masabacha. (19 NIS but also possible to ask for half a portion for only 10 NIS for beginners!)
Shawarma Gimel
29 Aba Achimeir st. Tel-Aviv
Shuster center

The nearest shawarma joint to my home. Not the best but not bad at all. The lunch menu is 50 NIS and will get you this plate of shuarma, 2 side dishes with all the side salads and a drink.

“Barcelona” – calamari and shrimp, white wine, garlic and smoked paprika (43 NIS). Was just excellent because of the quality of the seafood and very good sauce. We ate it with bread (10 NIS for a small basket) and a glass of white wine.

A daily special only for the bar – Tuna tartar with green apples and balsamic vinegar reduction (~26 NIS). The quality of the fish was noticeable but something was missing. we asked for lemon and it improved.

For the main course we split the Chevre Chaud Burger with Saint Maure cheese (55 NIS). Again, the quality of the ingredients was a delight. The cheese was excellent, the meat roasted medium and the bun was soft and sweet. Came with a coleslaw side dish and no French Fries or any side dish.
Three branches in Tel-Aviv
I ate in 11 Hertzel st.

We took 4 different sauces: Honey mustard, Horseradish mustard, spicy ketchup, garlic mayo. All sauces were great. I especially liked the horseradish.

The sausage itself, I think German type pork sausage, with the yummy bread was very good. I never tried Frank’s veal or chicken options because I know that when it comes to sausages – pork is the best option.
And now for some sweet bites!

The best deal for yogurt ice-cream I’ve seen. I took the smallest (!) cup for 14 NIS and I chose two different flavors – Classic yogurt and Banana. I got this huge cup and topped it with silan syrup and sesame paste. It was very good yogurt and the banana reminded me of the banana ice-cream flavor which has nothing to do with banana but very nostalgic.

I tried the Apricot Amaretto and Almonds with Red Fruits Meringue and Nougatine (15 NIS) I liked it but don’t know if I would take it again.
Shake-Guryon Juice Bar
Corner Of Ben Gurion & Dizengof, Tel Aviv

This underdog little venue popped just across the street from Tamara juice bar. It does the same but without a brand name and it’s cheaper. We decided to give it a try. The guy was very kind and welcoming.

I took the Asai drink with dates, mango and pomegranate juice (20 NIS for the big cup). It was great. I love Asai which is a Brazilian fruit with some health benefits. They always recommend to mix it with banana but I think it’s overpowering. The mango-date was perfect. Great price too. Will come back for sure!
