La Shuk is located just under the Dizengoff circus. According to their website they want to bring old Jaffa to the center of Tel-Aviv. The place itself is cute, warm and romantic, especially if it’s raining outside. Familiar and simple dishes, brought to an urban atmosphere. I think it’s a nice concept when the food is well made. I was very happy after all with both the quality of the food and the ambiance and service. The desserts were the weak point of the meal in my opinion.

Sea fish tartar with eggplant and sour cream with onion, parsley and chilly (46 NIS).

Fish tartar with eggplant and sour cream with onion, parsley and chili (46 NIS). We got this dish “on the house” and it was a fun surprise. Although the eggplant was dominant, I liked it.

Indian onion filled with chicken, basil and curry tehini (38 NIS). So fusion! I liked it. Positive impression on a dish that could just sound interesting on the paper but then be horrible.

Lamb "siniyeh" on a lafa baked with tahini, tomatoes and parsley (48 NIS). It was more like a dish called "lahmajun" than a siniyeh because the meat wasn't cooked inside the tehini, but only spread on top afterwards. Nonetheless it was tasty.

Chocolate Mousse, Amaretto, whipped cream and Candied almonds (32NIS) For me it was a simple chocolate mousse with whipped cream, didn't taste the Amaretto nor the candied almonds. It was okay as a chocolate mousse.

I enjoyed La Shuk. Don’t expect a twist or a spin, but it’s truly Israeli flavors and a relaxed place to eat tasty food. Great location as well.
