Friday at Metzitzim Beach The family gathered up to say goodbye to Reuven and his family who are going back to the US. As you know, beach is one of these places that give you as much apatite as possible, so we had to eat. We sat at the beach and the waitress of “9 Beach Bar” took our orders from right in front of the shore (the poor thing had to run on the sand back and forth a hundred times for us). These are some of the things we had (I’m not writing description, it’s pretty obvious):
Halumi cheese sandwich
The apple pie for dessert was quite good surprisingly. The sand got himself a nice portion of it as well, and he says thanks to generous Ron 馃檪
Saturday late lunch at the Shelef Residence:
cheek-peas with lemon, tehini and garlic. It’s not Hummus though…
Salad from all the vegetables we stole from Lia’s empty apartment (they’re in Italy, it’s fine)
Another couscous a la dried fruits
stir-fry chicken with red onions and butternut squash
And Sunday evening after seeing the Balle performance of “Jazz Montreal” at the “Mishkan Le Omanuiot Ha’bama”, mom and I went for a bite at Indira (London Minister):
The dips: Orange was from carrot and had very good flavor but bad texture. Green was my favorite from coriander and garlic and had a spiciness ending of the bite. The red was weird and not appealing at all, with a taste of red wine and we guessed maybe grapes or prunes? Two out of three ain’t bad.

Papadum (11 nis) and garlic Naan (12 nis). Were both good, though I prefer Tandoori’s naan for it’s long shape. What’s good about the Papadum is that it’s made out of lentils flour so mom can eat it more then regular Naan.

We took the recommended Panir Manchuri (54 nis) but it was a letdown and tasted like the Panir was sunk in a sweet chilly ready made bottled sauce.
The other dish we tried was Palak Mushrooms (46 nis) (mushrooms in spinach sauce). The spinach sauce they make with whatever inside is always very good and I love it. Unfortunately it’s also very fatty made with Ghee (clarified butter), so I try not to eat too much of it.

The meal was not cheap and 60% successful, but it beats the hell out of eating a plain salad or sandwich on Olive or Aroma next by. Note to self: leave all the Manchurian food alone.
Until next time…
