Thursday I went to the French Consulate to pick up my Student Visa so I can learn in France. After that had finished early, I had time to walk around shops. Chen took some time off studying to join me for a while and after buying some stuff we went to eat at Alice, Shenkin st. We actually came pretty early at noon and were told it’s only opening on 13:00. It’s pretty late for a Pizza place to be opening up isn’t it? Well, we came back one hour later and saw the selection wasn’t that wide yet. Chen being a regular customer knew that they usually have many Pizzas ready to choose from. So we started with tasting two kinds and then came back to see what was new.
The first one was the Bianca pizza with artichokes and olives.

The second was mushrooms and pesto
We didn’t try the pepperoni cause it looked lacking cheese on top, and Chen is not a pepperoni kinda ‘gal.
This is the plate we shared the first round. I love the addition of artichokes, but the olives kept falling off, through out the process. Not many were left to be eaten. The pizza dough was good in width, crunchiness and taste wise. The additions were not generous enough to my opinion. If you’re selling by the weight, I would expect to have more stuff on top. I like it packed with things on top.
We came back and saw there were three new pizzas. One with smoked mozzarella, dried tomatoes and rocket leaves. The other was eggplant. Then came out one with artichokes, tomatoes, olives and smoked mozzarella. We wanted some non-vegetarian pizza but the promises of ham and cheese was yet to be fulfilled. We took small portion of the smoked mozzarella to wait for the ham and cheese.
They both were pretty similar to the former batch. The addition of dried tomatoes was very positive for my pallet, but still could be a lot more of the toppings. I have a feeling that the dough was baked separately without anything and then with the toppings it was re-heated, what made it hard for the topping to integrate and be an actual part of the dough. This is why they kept falling off when trying to eat them.
At last the ham and cheese pizza came out and we had to take the final square of it. Ham works great on a Pizza, but there was so little of it! The slice you see on the bottom was almost ham-less.
The last three squares we tasted were also Biancas without tomato sauce. The pizza man claimed this is the uniqueness of the place and this is authentic Italian pizza. Maybe he’s right and it’s very similar to how the pizza like in Rome, I have no clue. For me it was too much dough and cheese and less sauces and toppings. Anyways, my conclusion is to go there late to be able to choose from more options (even sweet pizzas Chen said they had).
The price is about 80 nis per kilo. We ate a 50 nis worth of pizza (but with coupons so it was half off). If you’re a big dough fan – don’t miss it.
